When the rescuer reaches the victim, considering the fact that the rescuer must stay connected to a safety system, there is a particular moment when the rescuer is simultaneously connected to the helicopter and to the wall. This presents a major risk in a rescue situation because the helicopter is attached to the cliff in that moment and cannot release itself in an emergency. Petzl invented a system to specifically address this situation: The LEZARD system, a releasable helivac lanyard with securing of the drop-off\/recovery phases.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eGoal(s) of the training\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003cbr\u003eThe training aims to closely support the use of a very specialized system, developed by Petzl for helicopter rescue: the LEZARD system. Taking this training enables identification of the risks associated with improper use of the equipment, and provides the opportunity to practice using it properly, at height.
